American music magazine, Billboard has released its list of the Top 50 Best Afrobeats Songs of All-Time.
The list curated by Billboard Staff ranked 2Face’s hit ‘African Queen’ as the number 1 Best Afrobeats song of All-Time.
However, Wizkid is the only artist with double entries in the top 10 with ‘Ojuelegba’ at number 2 and ‘Essence’ (feat. Tems) at number 5.
Favour’s ‘Nwa Baby (Ashawo Remix) is number 3 on the list while Rema’s global hit ‘Calm Down’ took the 4th spot.
CKay’s ‘Love Nwantiti’, D’banj’s ‘Oliver Twist’, Davido’s ‘Fall’, Burna Boy’s ‘Ye’ and P-Square’s ‘Chop My Money Remix’ (feat. Akon) complete the top 10.
Despite Nigerian artists dominating the top 20, Ghanaian stars Fuse ODG and Sarkodie made appearances with ‘Azonto’ (feat. Itz Tiffany) and ‘Adonai’ (feat. Castro) at numbers 18 and 19, respectively.
Styl-Plus’ evergreen song ‘Olufunmi’ is ranked at number 11 while 9ice’s ‘Gongo Aso’ holds the number 12th position. ‘Do Me’ by P-Square and ‘Dami Duro’ by Davido occupied numbers 13 and 14, respectively.
Yemi Alade is the highest ranked female lead artist on the list with ‘Johnny’ at number 15.
Wande Coal’s ‘Bumper to Bumper’ (17) and Phyno’s ‘Fada Fada’ featuring Olamide (20) wrapped up the top 20.
