Diddy’s Lawyers Seek to Dismiss Kid Cudi’s Testimony Over ‘Lying’ Allegation
Diddy’s Legal team submitted a letter requesting that the judge remove Kid Cudi’s testimony regarding his torched Porsche due to his unconfirmed claim that the Bad Boy Records founder was lying about his involvement.
When Cudi took the stand in Combs’ federal sex trafficking and racketeering trial last week, the artist and actor spoke about a meeting with the disgraced mogul at the Soho House after his car was damaged.
While Cudi saying Diddy was “standing there like a Marvel supervillain” grabbed most of the headlines, Combs’ defense team believes the focus should be on an exchange in which Cudi was asked if he believed Diddy when he claimed to be unaware about the torched Porsche.
After Judge Arun Subramanian overruled an objection from Combs’ lawyer Brian Steel, Cudi went to say Diddy was “lying.”
Combs’ legal team argues that Cudi’s remark qualifies as an opinion, and Judge Subramanian should strike his testimony, as it pertains to the firebombing of his Porsche, from the record because it could potentially sway the jury.
