“I Am Igbo by Blood” — Davido Responds to Tribal Troll on X

Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, widely known as Davido, has declared that he is Igbo by blood. The revelation came as a response to a controversial post on X (formerly Twitter), where a user cautioned him against maintaining close ties with the Igbo community. The user, identified as Yakbel, insinuated that Davido, being Yoruba, risked betrayal by his Igbo associates.

Yakbel wrote:
“Davido just dey carry Ibo full body, until when dem betray am before e rest. Yoruba boy dey frolick with Ibos in 2025, they want your head and everything you have to belong to them. You can never satisfy Ibos. Ibos are not people you surround yourself with as a Yoruba man.”

In a swift response, Davido shut down the tribal remark, affirming his connection to the Igbo heritage.
His reply was brief but clear: “Lol. I am Igbo by blood.”
