Nigerian rapper and YBNL Nation founder Olamide has been recognised as a 2025 Billboard Global Power Player, a testament to his transformative influence on the global music scene. The announcement highlights Olamide’s role in expanding Afrobeats’ international footprint through his label, YBNL Nation, which secured a pivotal distribution deal with Empire in 2020. Under his mentorship, artist Asake sold out London’s O2 Arena for the second time in September 2024, becoming the third Nigerian act to achieve this feat multiple times, following Davido and Wizkid.
